UK based artist Tim Gambles released his latest single "Story Told Wrong" on August 7th 2025. The song was described to have gone through a major transformation, starting off as an electronic EDM track, but after teaming up with a local band and songwriter, the song eventually evolved into the released version we hear now, described by Tim as a track that, "grew up fast," and also mentions after the production chances the song is, "ready to speak for itself."

Personally after hearing the song, transitioning it into an alternative rock melody really suits the track, with its hard hitting drums that during first listen, had me waking up, and dancing to each kick and snare. The percussion is what truly stood out to me on the tracks production as I felt I could get lost in it. Followed by the echoing of the guitar riffs and chords, the guitar solo at the end is what truly tied the entire piece together. The real founding part of the songs ensemble is the bass, that bounces, and pops at times, mixing it with the grunge of the overdrive guitars during the bridge, the song was just built to be an alternative masterpiece.

Analyzing the songs lyrics, you can feel the message Tim is trying to portray with how people continuously miscommunicate on receiving information, leading to people falling out, or becoming emotionally reckless. In the chorus, Tim sings out, "love, hate, loose control. Blind truth has been sold... Hate is the lover of truth untold". From a relationship standpoint you can read the lyrics that lovers can sometimes love too much, thus causing tension between the two, leading to defiance, and things being said that may not have meant to have been spoken, equating to loosing control.

"Secrets that we wouldn't betray, slipping down a well of uncertainty", to me brings to light how with people we can trust the most, any disturbances of peace between one another, one may use these secrets as leverage against the other, and once those secrets are out, the other person will be, "kind when in pain". I've personally witnessed emotionally hurt people try and be overly sympathetic to those who have done them wrong to try and win them back.

The song in itself is an alternative pop/ rock masterpiece. With a polished instrumental that pulls you into the track, and lyrics that are relatable for most situations, Tim Gambles truly knocked it out of the park with his song "Story Told Wrong".
