Free Throw Bring Moments Before The Wind Tour to Toronto
On May 12, 2026, Toronto’s historic Opera House became the epicenter of midwest emo nostalgia and high-octane energy. Nashville veterans Free Throw brought their Moments Before The Wind Tour to the city, packing the venue with a dedicated crowd ready to scream every lyric. They brought along a stellar supporting lineup featuring Wakelee, TRSH, and Macseal.
Kickstarting the evening was Wakelee, who immediately set the bar high with a burst of infectious energy. Their dynamic set blended classic indie-punk grit with some unexpected musical sophistication, most notably highlighted by brass melodies courtesy of their trombone player, Gabe. It was a refreshing twist that instantly won over the early arrivals.
Delivering a set fueled by pure, unadulterated angst and soaring melodies, TRSH had their raw emotion vibrating through the entire venue. The crowd’s response was instantaneous; the floor erupted into a swirling sea of moshers, and a steady stream of crowd surfers began pouring over the barricade, setting a frantic pace for the rest of the night.
By the time Macseal took the stage as direct support, the room was buzzing. The band delivered a masterclass in intricate guitar work and infectious hooks. A highlight of their set came by bringing Free Throw frontman Cody Castro out on stage. Together, they launched into a spirited rendition of Harry Macseal's beloved track dedicated to pop icon Harry Styles.
Once Free Throw finally took the stage, the anticipation in the room was palpable. Launching into their set with the explosive precision of a band that has spent over a decade perfecting their craft, they commanded the room from the very first chord. Cody Cox’s raspy, emotionally charged vocals led the charge, backed by a wall of driving guitars and thunderous drums.
The band effortlessly balanced a setlist packed with fresh material from their latest era alongside the quintessential, beer-soaked anthems that put them on the map, Including Palette Town, Tongue Tied, Two Beers In and MissingNo. Every breakdown was met with a chorus of hundreds of fans shouting back every word, proving that even in 2026, Free Throw remains an undisputed heavyweight of the modern emo scene. To Keep up with what the band is up to and if there is a show coming to your city check out their Instagram.
