FanExpo 2026 Is Definitely Your One Stop For All Things Pop Culture

FanExpo Toronto took place this year from August 27th to the 30th and there was nothing short of things to do, see and purchase! If you were going with certain fandoms in mind, then there was something for you! Celebrating things from music, to television series, to movies, and cosplay as far as the eye could see, FanExpo was the place to be in Toronto at the end of August. Lets talk about some of the booths and attractions that you could attend and see at FanExpo Toronto, and if any seem to interest you, that is your sign to get your tickets for next year, which is happening August 26th to the 29th in 2027. 

The north building at the Toronto Metro Convention Centre is where most of the autograph signings and photo ops were held. On top of a plentiful amount of booths to shop and buy memorabilia, the south wall was a line of stalls with some of your favourite celebrities waiting to autograph photos, and items for their fans. Some of those guest appearing at FanExpo included Mark Hamill, John Cena, Elijah Wood, Mel Gibson, Alan Ritchson, and Dean Norris. Among some of the guests attending, the ones I was looking forward to seeing were the cast of Hazbin Hotel, Christian Borle, Joel Perez, Krystina Alabado, and Lilli Cooper. 

Cosplayers were taking advantage of posing for photos, and showing off the work and time they put into their outfits. On the lower level of the north building fans taking many photos, and even those without costumes were asking to get photos with other attendees in cosplay. Some of the most notable ones that stood out to me were Vox from Hazbin Hotel, Caine from The Amazing Digital Circus, and Pennywise from the IT movies and Welcome to Derry television series. 

Making our way down to the south building we were prepared for a sea of vendors and booths to shop at. Entering the south building the first thing we saw was the original couch from The Big Comfy Couch on display at the RetroKid booth. Behind glass too were the original Dust Bunnies and Molly the Doll that were used on screen, and if you were there at the right time Alyson Court would appear dressed head to toe in her original Lonette The Clown costume. 

Lego also had a booth with many displays and art work builds that you could see and pose with for photos. They even had a Lego Star Wars display you could climb up and sit on. If you also enjoy some freebies, you could build your own little Pokemon or Star Wars set free of charge! 

Disney Consumer Products had a booth displaying new products and items from lines such at Marvel, Toy Story, and Star Wars. It was awesome seeing some of the new products displayed, and seeing items that will be hitting selves in a few months time. Disney also had props and costume pieces for fans to pose with, along with backdrops set up representing some of the different products on display for fans to come take photos. 

Among other booths you could attend at FanExpo was RedBull, who was there focusing on their marketing on gaming and motorsports, even having an open fender race car on display. Audible also was there promoting Dennis E. Taylor’s sci-fi series the Bobiverse having recreated an immersive and interactive spaceship that you could walk around. eBay was even hosting a live auction, selling off pop culture memorabilia.

If your money was burning a hole through your pocket, look no further because the amount of shopping at FanExpo will leave you wanting everything. Everything from comic books, to vinyl records, Pop! Funko figures, posters, clothing, TCG cards… I mean literally everything. There is even an Artist Alley where local artists show off their work and products that you can purchase. My fellow journalist and I enjoy collecting the Mattel Disney Cars die-casts, and though we thought maybe we wouldn’t find any, we were proven wrong as when we were about to leave for the day we found a booth that had them and we snatched those die-casts up! Beyond all the shopping and sights to see, there are also panels, and get togethers that attendees can visit. May Hong and Ji-Young You, the voice actresses of Mira and Zoey from K-Pop Demon Hunters had a panel recollecting their time creating the film, same with the cast of Hazbin Hotel where the Vee’s and Cherri Bomb talked about their time thus far on the show! If you had extra to spend too, there was the opportunity to have a second breakfast with the cast who played the Hobbits in Lord of The Rings.

FanExpo definitely is an event for everyone. There is always something going on, and its an event that if you want to do and see everything, you will for sure need to obtain the four day pass.
