A little late to the party, but I had to sit on this one to properly write it. Hazbin Hotel season 2 started streaming on Amazon Prime towards the end of October 2025. We last saw the Hazbin characters rebuilding the hotel at the end of the season 1 finale in 2024 after the big battle against Adam's exorcist angels in order to stop the exterminations in Hell. The first season showed Lucifer's daughter Charlie Morningstar open her hotel to all sinners in Hell to try and help them be redeemed into heaven. In the end we see Sir Pentious, the inventor scientist snake who gave his life to save his friends (specifically Cherri Bomb) against the exorcist angel army be redeemed into Heaven.

Below is a quick season one recap, sang by our demonic host Alastor.

Season one subtly introduced us to the Vee's. The unholy trinity is made up of antagonists Velvette, Valentino and Vox. They popped in and out in season one showing more of their overlord status. Velvette is the social media overlord, Valentino is the overlord of film, and Vox is the media overlord. Diving deeper it was revealed that Alastor and Vox had past beef that Vox still isn't over, which can be seen with the song "Stayed Gone" from season one. Leaning into season 2 we see Charlie is doing well with the hotel post exorcist war, but Vox has something better up his sleeve. We learn that in his human life before he died that Vox was a cult leader and ropes Velvette and Valentino into his master plan to take over heaven and rule all creation.

On the other side of Pentagram City, Charlie finds out from her friend Emily in Heaven that Pentious was redeemed and that her hotel actually works. Bringing this news to light, the Vees try to do everything to destroy the hotels reputation and manipulate all media to make Charlie look like a villian. This is all part of Vox's plan to gain supporters to march against heaven.

The season revealed that despite Hell being full of trouble makers and sinners causing havoc that Heaven was dealing with a mess of their own. Sera who watches over the winners in Heaven is in panic mode as she fears that Hell is going to truly start and uprising, along with her seeing Pentious on his arrival into the new realm, she has a heavy heart full of guilt after realizing redemption is possible and she allowed all those sinners to die from the exorcists. To keep Heaven safe, Sera creates an invisible barrier around the realm to protect everyone.

As the season progresses Alastor creates his own agenda to get out of his deal with Rosie to own his soul and goes up against Vox once more, becoming his prisoner upon the request that he spares Niffty and Husk, and that he doesn't lay a finger on Charlie. With a ramped up finale, that ends with a major cliff hanger, we'll have to see what is in store next for the Hotel gang when Hazbin Hotel season 3 returns on Amazon Prime.
