BENEE is an Angel and We’re Just Particles
On March 30, BENEE brought her Particles Tour to Phoenix, Arizona, performing at Crescent Ballroom. The tour centers around her newest album, Ur an Angel I'm Just Particles, her first full-length release in five years. With a blend of alternative, indie, and hyper-pop, her music makes standing still nearly impossible.
As soon as the lights dimmed, the band walked out one by one, leaving a longer pause for the main event — BENEE. The love from the crowd was immediate, as fans cheered and clapped in excitement when she ran onto the stage in her iconic fuzzy boots.
She kicked off the night with “Cinnamon,” “Princess,” and “Off the Rails,” instantly shifting the night into high gear. The set offered a blend of songs to sing along to, dance to, and even moments to simply stand back and soak it all in. The venue itself was on the smaller side, but as someone who isn’t tall, it was easy to spot her throughout the night. The crowd was filled with genuine fans who sang along to nearly every word.
I’ve known about BENEE since 2019, when she went viral on TikTok with “Supalonely” and “Glitter.” To my surprise, she performed both. Hearing those songs live brought me back to the early days of COVID, when her music brought joy during such a chaotic time. It was also one of the loudest sing-along moments of the night, making me wonder how many others in the crowd discovered her during that same time.

BENEE proved herself to be a fun, energetic performer who knows how to charm a crowd and put on a wonderful show. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend giving her album, Ur an Angel I’m Just Particles a listen. If this show proved anything, it’s that BENEE’s return after five years was well worth the wait.
